Our Story
etfile was founded in 1996 by Robert Linton as a solution to the incomplete document management systems then on the market. With 15 + years of systems automation experience he set out to create software that would enable users to scan, classify, store, access and share documents right from their workstations.

By 1998, etfile's in-house programming staff developed the answer: etfile document management. The company then formed partnerships with leading automation vendors to integrate etfile with their legacy systems. Since then, etfile's compatibility and enhancements have enabled the company to market and sell their systems to multiple industries all over the world.

In 2007, etfile launched its newest product, etbackup-online, an automated, tapeless backup solution that continuously backs up server data, archives it in etfile's secure, off-site Data Center and makes it immediately available for recovery 24 hours a day. Simple and secure online backup.
