etfile was founded in 1996 by Robert Linton as Après Systems. His 15+ years of systems automation experience made him realize that the document management systems on the market at that time were incomplete. Bob’s goal was to provide what was lacking: a system capable of easily integrating with existing automation systems that would enable users to scan, classify, store, access, and share documents right from their workstations.
By 1998, the etfile in-house programming staff developed the answer:
etfile document management. etfile then formed partnerships with leading automation vendors to integrate etfile with legacy systems. Our compatibility and enhancements enabled us to market and sell
etfile document management solutions to multiple industries all over the world.
In 2007, etfile introduced its newest product,
etbackup-online, a
completely automated and tapeless backup solution that continuously backs up
server data, archives it in their secure, off-site data center and makes it
immediately available for recovery 24 hours a day. Simple and secure online
backup. A great compliment to the document management solutions.
